Proteins are large and complex molecules that play a crucial role in the body. They are needed for the structure, function, and regulation of the body’s tissues and organs.

Proteins are the building blocks of our body. Proteins help our muscles and tissues grow and function. The body needs protein in large amounts. Our body uses 22 types of amino acids nine come from food the rest is produced by the body itself.

Various foods contain amino acids in various combinations. Some common sources of protein that you should include in your daily diet are:

Peanuts

Peanuts are a delicious snack, that is high in protein content. They are rich in fiber and magnesium. Peanuts can be consumed in different forms and one of the most common forms is peanut butter. As much as peanut butter is tasty keep an eye out on how much you consume. Too much of anything can be dangerous. 

Milk and milk products

Milk along with dairy products such as milk, cheese, and yogurt are wholesome foods because of the variety of nutrients it has. It is primarily known as an excellent source of protein and calcium, which keeps bones and teeth strong, preventing osteoporosis.

Eggs

Eggs are one of the cheapest and richest sources of protein. Whole eggs are very healthy and are great sources of vitamins, minerals, and brain nutrients. Egg white is one of the richest sources of protein.

Seafood

It is an excellent source of protein, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and usually low in fat. The fat contained in some types of fish such as salmon and tuna is a healthy fat that is good for the heart.

Lentils

Lentils are a great source of protein and fit well with a vegetarian diet. They are high in fiber and minerals and low in calories. Lentils are good for the digestive system. Other pulses such as soybeans, chickpeas, and kidney beans are also good sources of protein.
